FE-128 Sound Sample - Month 28 Feb, 2012

Thanks to Kyle Wierzba for trying out my mics! Follow the link below to hear an EP he recorded using a pair of FE-128 mics with cardioid capsules as drum overheads, using the Glyn Johns method:

FE-128 Sound Sample - 2011 Hamburg Steinway D9 26 Jan, 2012

A big thanks to the Clubhouse for taking the time to record the following excerpt with a pair of FE-128-C microphones on a Steinway model D.

FE-120 Sound Samples - Hotel of The Laughing Tree 10 Nov, 2011

Your mics are absolutely outstanding for the price range, I've used them on almost everything from nylon string guitars and woodwinds, to acapella groups, and as drum overheads. No matter what application these microphones really shine and give definition to my recordings. I can't imagine working without them anymore, thanks!

I used your SDs as the overheads in this video, they worked great. They're being converted by an M-Audio Fasttrack 8r. They're the most solid microphone in this recording and I think it really shows, even on some of the most affordable conversion.

Product Updates! 15 July, 2011

Today we are happy to announce our first microphone with replaceable capsules:

The FE-128
This new microphone is based on the same condenser element from the FE-120, but sounds considerably different due to the internal physical construction.

Look for more sound clips in the near future, to help you decide which of our microphones is best for you.

FE210 Updates: The FE210 has been updated to FE218. Changes include:
-Sealed off preamp chamber, provides a less 'edgy' sound than the FE210.
-New pad gives the FE218 20dB more headroom than the FE210.
   -Updated, more durable physical construction

FE804 Updates: The FE804 is relabeled as FE84. The physical construction has been updated for durability - acoustically the FE804 remains the same.

FE-120 Sound Samples 27 May, 2011

I recently used a pair of FE-120 microphones to record a high school jazz concert that took place in the school's lunch room. Here is a clip, with only minor EQ added. (-2dB @ 590Hz, Q=1.9)

Introducing our latest creation: the FE-120! With a 12 millimeter diaphragm, this microphone fits right in with many of the popular small diaphragm
condensors available.

So what's different about our microphone? The internal structure is damped to provide a warm and pleasant sound free of resonances. The FE-120 preamp produces less self-noise than many similarly priced alternatives. Finally, our quality control is unbeatable, because each microphone is thoroughly inspected at each stage of construction.

Just like the FE-804, these are available in both omnidirectional and cardioid polar patterns for maximum flexibility in any recording situation.

Customisable using any single or dual op-amp!

FE-804 Sound Samples 5 Dec, 2010

Here are some samples straight from a pair of cardioid FE-804s. These samples were recorded in a small room, with no EQ, compression, reverb, or other effects added. For both samples, the microphones were about three feet from the instrument, and were spaced apart about three feet. Hope you enjoy!

Drumset MP3 256kbps (3.2MB)

The FE804 is great for dull sounding sources. It's bright sound makes it unique in our lineup. It can handle low SPL due to it's low noise internal preamplifier, and high SPL thanks to the variable gain FET stage. The capsule is hard-wired, and not removable to ensure reliability. It is extremely compact, which is great for an unobtrusive live recording setup.

Of course, these microphones are also great choices to supplement any studio mic closet! They are available in both omnidirectional and cardioid polar patterns for maximum flexibility in any recording situation.

Customisable using any single op-amp!

The FE210 is meant for studio recording use, where the quality of sound recorded is of utmost importance.  This mic is a unique large diaphragm condenser, in the form of a miniature pencil mic!

We only produce this microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern because the large diaphragm inherently makes the microphone directional at high frequencies, and we wanted to keep the frequency response as consistent as possible off axis.

Customisable using any single op-amp!
